Green Juicing Recipes
Angel: As ready as I’ll ever be.
Elaine: Okay, now let me tell you that I have a Breville juicer because it’s a wide mouth. There are lots of different kinds of juicers out there, but you know I’m all about being simple and easy. Because I can put everything in without having to cut it up, I do it more often. If I have to cut up all of the vegetables before I put them in, we’re talking about a twenty minute ordeal, as opposed to less than five minutes. And when I had to cut everything up, I always had an excuse; when all I had to do it put it through here, it was easy, so, and then, of course, I had better results. So, it doesn’t get much easier than this. We are going to turn it on, and then I’m going to let YOU put everything through! And this is…you just use this to put it down, and I’m going to turn it on, right here…Okay?
Angel: Okay….pull this out…?
(sound of juicer in background)
Elaine: Yeah, go for it! Throw it all in! How cool is that?
(sound of juicer continuing in background)
Angel: This is a stress reliever here!
Elaine: I know!
Angel: You put it all in at once?
Angel: All of that?
Elaine: Yes! Go for it!
Angel: And what is this?
Elaine: That is kale. And we’re putting parsley in…this is kale, thank you for asking.
Angel: I’m making a mess…
Elaine: No, this is easy! Okay, put the spinach in…fresh spinach…everything is organic…
Angel: You wash it all first?
Elaine: We wash it all first in the high alkaline water…
Angel: Look at all that! Wow!
Elaine: Okay, put a whole lemon in…no, take the label off…(laughter)
Angel: That’s not organic…(laughter)
Elaine: That’s not organic.
Angel: I love that you say the WHOLE lemon…
Elaine: I know! Just push it down…there you go…Now, I add garlic and ginger, and if you wrap it around a couple of leaves, it makes it easier…there you go!
Elaine: That’s it. How was it? Is that awesome?
Angel: That was so awesome!
Elaine: Wasn’t that awesome! In fact, I will go and get us… we can use these glasses right here. (she grabs two ornate glasses from the cabinet in the background). This is actually what I use to have my juice because I celebrate my health. (laughter)
Angel: These are fabulous!
Elaine: (laughter) So let’s take that top off…take the little nozzle off…I’ll do this from this side….okay….I’m going to have some with you…
Elaine: To your health! Cheers!
Angel: Yum! It’s good!
Angel: It’s actually kind of sweet…
Elaine: Well, it’s the lemon and the ginger…
Angel: The lemon and the ginger…
Elaine: Uh huh!
Angel: That’s really good.
Elaine: Oh good! I’m so glad. So, you think this is easy enough for you to do?
Angel: Definitely easy.
Elaine: Now, we won’t do it now but what I do, actually, is I have a bag here that catches all of the pulp that makes it an easier clean up. But I put the pulp through again and when I put this amount of pulp through again, I get almost eight ounces again. So it’s really, really easy to do. So, are you going to keep me up on your…
Angel: I am…
Elaine: Okay, good. I’m excited.
