Kale is truly a super hero and an important part of our true healthy lifestyle.

Diet and Digestion -One cup of kale has only 36 calories and zero grams of fat, which makes it a great diet aid. Furthermore, one cup contains nearly 20% of the RDA of dietary fiber

Antioxidants -Kale is a superstar in the arena of carotenoids and flavonoids, two powerful antioxidants that protect our cells from free radicals that cause oxidative stress

Anti-Inflammatory -One cup of kale provides about 10% of the RDA of omega-3 fatty acids that helps regulate the body’s inflammatory process.

Cardiovascular Support -The high fiber content of kale lowers our cholesterol by binding with bile acids that the liver produces from cholesterol for digesting fat.

How To Make Kale Chips; For Those Who Love To Snack (like me!)

As a true snack lover, I had to find raw healthy additions to my eating.
This is very high on the list.
For the record, potato chips were my all time favorite.

Here are a few recipes.

Instructions
  1. Wash and cut kale into bite sizes pieces. (In a pinch Trader Joe’s has wonderful packages kale in bite size pieces)
  2. Blend all ingredients except the kale in a high speed blender until you have a smooth batter like consistency.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, pour the batter over the kale and massage until evenly coated.

  6. Dehydrate using dehydrator sheets on 100 degrees for about 12 hours.
