The holiday season can be filled with excitement, wonder, parties and yes, stress! In times of stress, I always turn to my two most important areas of my alkaline lifestyle: green juice and alkaline water. Being aware that sugar is a real no-no for disease prevention, and everything else, finding ways to support ourselves is key. Tis the season to stay healthy and increasing both of these can be your best friend.



The  holidays (or anytime you are going to a party) can be an additionally frustrating time when it comes to visiting others while committed to staying  healthy and creating an extraordinary lifestyle.


TIP: When you are invited to a gathering always bring a dish to share that you can eat.

My clients and  always have a batch of these beauties made and ready for use.

Elaine Gibson, Renewed Living, and it’s Thanksgiving and we’re on our way to our daughter’s home, Marlo, for Thanksgiving.  I wanted to share with you a wonderful roasted vegetable dish that I discovered several years ago. And no, it’s not raw and, no, I’m not 100% raw, but I want to share this with you. One of the things that’s amazing about eating seasonally is that each season brings you new gifts. And these are root vegetables and they are roasted with some olive oil, a little bit of salt and rosemary. They are wonderful; they make you feel good. Root vegetables get you very grounded. And, yes, it’s Thanksgiving and it’s a special holiday but at Renewed Living, Nevin and I are grateful every day.



Not to be Missed Roasted Vegetables
  • 3 cups chunks of Butternut squash
  • 10 oz Brussesl sprouts trimmed and halved
  • 2 large beets cut into chunks
  • 1 cup carrots
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1tablespoon dried rosemary
  • ½ teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. In a large roasting pan toss to coat the vegetables with olive oil, salt and rosemary
  3. Cover and roast for 30 minutes
  4. Remove cover and roast until desired tenderness
 1-4 cloves of garlic can be added
Small pearl onions can be added
Toss the vegetables every 10 minutes
Be sure to make extra so you can have some the next day
